Established in October 2005, Blue Spoon Coffee Company is a cozy, independent coffee shop that serves what some have said is the best drip coffee and espresso in New York City. Because of their passion for great coffee, Blue Spoon serves Intelligentsia brand coffee and teas — what they believe to be the finest available on the market. An environmentally and socially responsible company, Intelligentsia works closely with growers and importers to ensure the quality of the bean. All Intelligentsia coffee is traded fairly, paying the grower above the Fair Trade price. Coffee is the core of Blue Spoon, but the food is fresh and gourmet: made-to-order sandwiches and panini served on bread from Balthazar Bakery, New York H&H Bagels, freshly-baked rustic pastries, and better-than-mom-makes soups. Beyond that, you can always count on good music, free WiFi, a clean décor and a genuinely friendly staff.
